About Angela carter
Angela Olive Carter-Pearce was an English author, short story writer, journalist and professor. She is known for her feminist, magic realism and picaresque pieces. Born on May 7, 1940 in Sussex, England she moved to her grandmother’s house once WW2 began. She married Paul Carter in 1960 at the age of twenty and published her first novel Shadow Dance 6 years later. She won the John Llewellyn Rhys prize for her second novel the Magic Toyshop. She published her last novel Wise Children in 1991. She died in 1992 at the age of 52.
